Terms of Use
Last updated: 05/07/2026
Welcome to Kora. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kora app and website at korafamily.app (the "Service"), operated from New Zealand. By creating an account or using Kora, you agree to these Terms.
If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Kora account. Kora is designed for use by parents/guardians managing family organization; other family members (including children) are added as names within an account holder's household and do not hold separate accounts.
2. Your Account
You're responsible for:
- Keeping your login details secure
- All activity that happens under your account
- The accuracy of information you add (including family member names and content)
If you become aware of unauthorized use of your account, contact us immediately at hello@korafamily.app.
3. Family Invite Codes
Kora allows account holders to generate invite codes to link household members. You're responsible for who you share your family invite codes with. Anyone joining your household via an invite code will be able to view and interact with shared household content (calendar, lists, meals, etc.).
4. Beta / Founding Access
Kora is currently offered free of charge during its early launch period. Features, availability, and pricing may change as the Service develops. If we introduce paid subscription plans in the future, we'll provide clear notice before any charges apply, and continued use of free features will not automatically enroll you in a paid plan.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Kora for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access accounts or data that aren't yours
- Upload content that is harmful, abusive, or infringes on others' rights
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service's operation
- Use the newsletter scanning feature to upload content unrelated to its intended purpose
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you add to Kora (calendar events, lists, family names, uploaded newsletters, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.
7. Third-Party Services
Kora relies on third-party providers (including Supabase/Lovable Cloud, Resend, and Anthropic) to operate core features. Your use of Kora is also subject to reasonable use of these underlying services. We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party providers outside our control.
8. Availability and Changes
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Kora at any time. We'll do our best to notify users of significant changes, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, particularly during this early launch period.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Kora is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, about the reliability, accuracy, or fitness of the Service for a particular purpose. Kora is a household organization tool and should not be relied upon as the sole record for time-sensitive or critical information (e.g. medical appointments, legal deadlines).
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, Kora and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data.
11. Termination
You may stop using Kora and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of Kora after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
